Our family farm lies on one of the oldest agricultural lands in the area, known to many as Scratch Flat. The land has been farmed since 1781 and has been continuously operated by the Theodoros Family since 1931. We grow quality fruits and vegetables, carefully monitoring the crops using Integrated Pest Management as well as a natural approach. Each week, a crop inspector comes out to carefully inspect the fields for insects and soil born diseases. We respect our land and treat it with the utmost care. Synthetic fertilizers are never used, only well composted manure from our own livestock. If you have ever shopped our farm stand or been a part of our CSA in the past we are sure that you have witnessed all of our hard work!

2011 Meat Buyer’s Club Information Packet

Today there is a growing demand for naturally raised meat because many people are beginning to realize; that mass-produced meat is inhumanely handled, and fed a bad diet which affects the health of those who consume it. Raising meat naturally is better for the livestock, better for the environment, and better for the consumer. Our family does not believe in feed-lots or industrialized slaughterhouses. Our animals live happy, clean lives with plenty of green grass grown in untreated pastures, clean water, abundant shade, sunshine, and have plenty of room to roam as they please.

2011 will be the first year that we are offering a Meat Buyer's Club at our farm. We view this as a great way to build a closer relationship between us, the producers, and you, the consumers. Removing the middleman gives you a closer look at where your meat comes from, how it is handled and raised before it reaches your dinner plate. This is also a great way to explore serving new cuts of some of your favorite meats and trying something that may be new to you, like our pasture raised lamb.

This program differs from our Meat Plan as it will run more like a Co-Op. You purchase a membership fee into our farm for the entire year and come and get what you want, when you want it.

What You Get:

  • Email newsletters
  • Coupons
  • 10% off all meat purchases
  • Updates on meat and harvest arrivals so you can get first pick on some of our most popular items
  • The opportunity to place custom cutting orders
  • Free passes to attend our educational seminars at our
  • Home Farm or Gibbet Hill Cattle Company
  • Place special orders on Meat harvests as you wish
  • An open invitation to visit our livestock anytime and even have a picnic at Gibbet Hill Cattle Company or our Home Farm!a
  • A closer relationship with the producers and the livestock

What to Expect:

We truly believe that we raise excellent Pasture-Raised Meat products. Our livestock is treated with pride, dignity and humanity from the day they are born on our land until the day they leave. They are treated with the respect that all living-creatures deserve. You have the comfort and security of knowing where your food came from, what it went through to reach your plate, and the folks that handled it from start to finish.

For each member that signs up for our Meat Buyer’s Club; our farm will donate $10.00 to protect Farm Animals across the United States. We are proud supporters of the Humane Farming Association and truly believe that they are making great efforts to help protect the mistreated factory-farmed animals across the country.

We take great pride in treating our workers, our livestock, and our environment with great respect and we are looking forward to you and your family sharing it with us as well.
